Christmas was good to me. Happy 2010!

Despite being sick for the better part of 10 days now, I've had a great Holiday season.  My plans to take my family to Michigan's Upper Peninsula did not work out on account of the 3 days of heavy snow.  We stuck around and had a nice, small, humble Christmas at home.

Gifts are not a big deal to me at this point in my life.  I appreciate the gesture--don't think me an ingrate, but I just don't need too many "things" anymore.  I tend to buy what I need and want.  Its the luxury of being an adult I guess.  You take care of yourself pretty well.

One thing I did not need so much as want, was a pair of wool ( best fabric ever! ) lobster-claw mittens (also called "glittens").  If you've ever tried to be active in standard mittens, you've run into the problem of having only two points of contact.  Add another and things improve.  So the glittens combine the warming attributes of a mitten with the articulation of a glove.

My sweet, beautiful and crafty lady spent way too many hours knitting me a pair.  Bless her.  They are great.  I always appreciate a "made" gift too.  You can see her blog for lots of "made" things.  It's what she does.

I hope that 2010 shines on you brightly.  I expect a great year-- as I always do.  Someone wise once said something to the tune of "It is what you make it".  Go forth, friends.

*ps - thanks to immensely talented friend, Pavel Romaniko for the photo!
