It is here. And I am in Outside!

Man in black - teammate Tom Hagerty. Link to Tom's Job.

Confusing, I know.

When I say "here", I actually mean Here.  One on One Bicycle Studio - this Saturday.  And by "it", I of course mean the Art of the Velodrome Show.  I've been running around like a wildman trying to cross t's and dot i's and make sure I am ready for this and keeping all my other jobs in line.  It's been a wild week.

I know a lot of you are coming on Saturday and I want you to know in advance that I am a little blown away by how many of you have let me know you will be there.  I did not expect much of an ordeal to be made of it, but I am flattered, blessed and excited.  I only hope now that the show will be a positive use of your collective time.  I'll do my best.

And the Outside part:  I am a subscriber to Outside Magazine, a journal of all outdoors related activities:  cycling, climbing, swimming, road-tripping, skiing, sailing, camping - on and on.  Love this magazine.  I've weakly attempted to get into this magazine before.  It has been on my shortlist of clients I'd like to work for.

Well, much to my surprise, I am flipping through the new issue and "WHOA - this is my image!".  I was befuddled!  How does this happen?  I was not asked, or paid?!  Some quick gumshoe work revealed that the NY Times partners with a stock photo agency and they licensed it to them.  My check will come in the mail later.  Cool.  That was easy.  I just wish I had gotten a photo credit.  Beggars can't be choosers.

Lastly, I (may) have some exciting things on the horizon that I cannot yet talk about, but when I can, you'll all be the first to know.  I'm grinning so hard you can see my dimples.  I've said it before, but it bears repeating - "I Love my job!"  Come "ups", come "downs", I'm a lucky man to do something I like and make a living at it.  Thanks to those of you who write the checks!
